Blizzard?

Well Tuesday night we were warned that a blizzard was coming. Schools closed early, evening activities were cancelled to get people off the road for the evening before the storm hit. It was very windy and visibility appeared to be low. I say appeared to be cause I only saw it on TV. We got about 10 minutes of light winds and a dusting of snow. We live in a "bench" area and usually get more snow than those in the lower elevation but not this time. The northern part of the state got more than we did and the worst of the storm was out in the center of the valley.
I thought when I woke up on Wednesday that we were going to be in for several days of the storm circling around and trying to get started but instead we have gotten clear skies and very cold temperatures. It has been beautiful! We had sunshine and blue skies, just perfect weather. In the afternoon you could see a storm up in the canyon, the gray mist clinging to the mountains nearby but we continued to have beautiful sunshine. I saw the moon rise over the mountains last night and illuminate the wisps of clouds. Sunsets have been pink and spectacular and the stars have been so bright! If this is a blizzard I would love to have a few more.
